This series of illustrations was created based on the yokai Kappa, a folkloric figure from Japanese culture.
Kappas are creatures that live in rivers and seas. They are the size of a child and have the shell of a turtle.
On their heads, they have an orifice similar to a bowl, which must always be filled with water to maintain their power and strength.
To make sure you don't get attacked by them, remember that they are big fans of cucumbers! ;)
